Jimmy Walter was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1981. He received his B.S., cum laude, in 1978 from Washington & Lee University and his J.D. in 1981 from The University of Alabama. He was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of the Coif, and Phi Delta Phi. He was named a Dean M. Leigh Harrison Scholar and a Hugo L. Black Scholar. Jimmy also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Alabama Law Review.
