The Firms health care law attorneys advise a variety of persons in the health care industry, including physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, dialysis facilities, and other specialty facilities and health care oriented associations. The Firms attorneys are regularly engaged in licensing and Certificate of Need matters; assisting with the formation, merger, sales and financings of physician specialty groups and other health care firms; developing integrated delivery systems; ensuring regulatory compliance; advising clients regarding fraud and abuse and reimbursement issues; and health care law planning.
The Firms attorneys have much experience in representing clients before the medical and health-related regulatory agencies, particularly the boards and commissions that conduct their proceedings in Montgomery. The Firm was integrally involved in the formation and implementation of the Alabama Medicaid Program and served as the Alabama Medicaid Agencys primary legal advisor from its inception through 1990. The Firm continues to represent the Agency on selected matters and litigation.
Complementing the Firms other sections of practice, its attorneys are active in corporate and employment matters for health care companies, including the development of compensation and deferred compensation plans; providing tax, corporate, and transactional services; developing self-insurance plans; advising persons involved taxable and tax exempt bond financings; preparing and enforcing employment agreements and manuals and handling employment litigation.
